Welcome OU Alumni and Friends!
Welcome to the OU Club of San Diego. Our club was established in 1992 to promote OU Alumni activities in the San Diego County area and to raise scholarship funds for San Diego County students attending the University of Oklahoma.
As a social and networking organization, our club also offers you an opportunity to be involved once again with OU and meet some of the 1,000+ alumni living in this area.
We invite you to become an active member of the OU Club of San Diego. If you are traveling to the San Diego area for business or pleasure during football season, please join us for our watch parties and help us cheer on the Sooners.
2014 Sooner Football Watch Party Locations
Are you ready for some Sooner football? Kick-off for the 2014 season is Saturday, August 30, when OU takes on Louisiana Tech at 6 p.m. Make plans to join Sooner fans and alumni for our opening game. We have two football watch party locations for all of our games again this year:
710 Beach Club, 710 Garnet Avenue, San Diego is the place for avid Sooner fans to gather during football season. 710 is an age 21-and-over sports bar and restaurant located in Pacific Beach, and hosts a vocal group of Sooners for all of our games. OU decor and "Boomer Sooner" playing after every OU score keep game day spirit alive. Street parking is available with a two-hour limit, or you can park at one of the pay lots within 2 blocks of 710.
Kaminski BBQ and Sports Lounge, 12735 Poway Road (across from Perry Ford) in Poway, is family-friendly and located off of I-15, which is convenient for northeast county fans. Kaminski’s features great barbeque and plenty of TVs tuned to OU football. The restaurant offers free parking.
One of our club's primary missions is to raise money for our scholarship fund. Each year, we receive applications from area students who are attending OU and need financial assistance. Our club newsletter recently mailed by the OU Alumni Association includes a form for making a donation to the club’s Scholarship and Operational funds. Since all alumni located in San Diego County are automatically members of the OU Club of San Diego and we do not have membership dues, we hope you will consider making a donation to support our scholarship fund and club events.
